Four themes to contemplate concerning the Day of Atonement:

1) The father of sin must be bound and rendered powerless.

2) Only Jesus Christ, who is our High Priest, is fit to render Satan powerless.

3) We may become "at one" with God.

4) Through proper prayer and fasting we learn to do God's will faithfully.
